I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and nice long weekend! Mine was filled with lots of yummy food and time spent with friends and family.
I spent Wednesday afternoon helping my mom cook. We did have one minor problem with the pie…
But we were able to revive it and no one ever knew!
I also made Pumpkin Cake Balls, which were a huge hit! I will share that recipe later this week. But seriously I think they will be making an appearance at all future Thanksgivings (and just all the time because they were amazing).
Thursday morning, we cooked the rest of the food while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I made these yummy cheese balls for an appetizer:
They were super simple, it was just cream cheese, blue cheese, and dried cranberries made into balls and then rolled in toasted pecans.
It was the puppy’s first Thanksgiving, so he was really excited about all the crazyness. He had lots of fun chasing ducks, ripping apart his “cousin’s” toys, and trying to sneak pieces of turkey. Poor guy was so tired, he didn’t even want to eat his dinner.
Of course I ate entirely too much on Thanksgiving, so I started off Friday with a nice run and high expectations of eating healthy. Then it was all downhill when I met some of my best friends from high school for lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Miguel’s.
We skipped the Black Friday madness and went straight to the bar spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful weather and sipping mimosas and playing Cards Against Humanity.
Saturday morning I went with my mom to get a Christmas tree! Now her entire house is decorated and I just love it so much! I can’t wait until she starts baking all her goodies!
Saturday afternoon, we watched the UF vs. FSU game, which is always a HUGE game here in Florida. Gators lost 😦 but it was still a lot of fun!
I spent Sunday relaxing and running and mentally preparing myself to go back to work. The Monday after a long weekend is always the worst!
